Who Would Be Appropriate for Treatment?
|
Treatments are effective for most individuals, including those with darker or tanned skin. Treatments work best on smaller veins.

How Does the Treatment Work?
|
Laser light is delivered through the skin and into the vein. After heating, the vein walls collapse and seal shut. The sealed vein is then broken down and absorbed by the body.

What Can I Expect During Treatment?
|
You will start by meeting with a physician to discuss the treatment and your medical history. After your consultation, a thin layer of gel will be applied to the skin. The laser handpiece will be directed over the subject vein, which will, in many cases, disappear after a single pass.

Is the Treatment Painful?
|
Discomfort varies depending on the size and location of the vein. Many describe each laser pulse as feeling like the snap of a rubber band against the skin. As there can be moderate discomfort, your physician may offer an anesthetic gel to help reduce the pain.

What Can I Expect Following Each Treatment?
|
In some cases, the treated region will be slightly swollen and tender to the touch for a day or two. A red mark, resembling a cat scratch, can sometimes persist for a few weeks. After treatment, you may be asked to avoid heavy exercise and wear sunscreen. Your physician will provide more detailed instructions following treatment.

How Long Do the Treatments Take?
|
Leg vein sessions can take about 30 minutes depending on the size of the treatment area. While some patients may be satisfied after just one treatment, two or more treatments may be needed to achieve desired results.

How Long Do the Results Last?
|
The appearance of existing veins will be diminished or completely eliminated. However, the development of new veins cannot be prevented. If your body has an underlying vascular problem, you may need additional treatments.

Why Laser Hair Reduction?
|
The old fashioned ways of removing hair - shaving, tweezing, creams, and waxing - are time consuming and don't last. Although electrolysis can permenently remove hair, it is an extremely slow and painful method. You can obtain long-lasting results with laser hair removal treatments.

Is Laser Hair Removal Safe?
|
The laser is FDA cleared for permanent hair reduction on all skin types, including very fair skin and olive or African-American skin. Treatments are most effective on medium to dark hair on any skin type. Fine and light hair is very difficult to treat. Blonde, red, white, and gray hair cannot be treated.

Many people describe the sensation as the snap of a rubber band against their skin. To minimize the discomfort, a cool gel is applied to the skin before treatment.

How Many Treatments are Needed?
|
Laser treatments impair the growth capacity of the hair follicles when they are in the active growth stage. Not all follicles are active at the same time and several treatments, every few weeks, may be necessary to obtain the desired result. The number of treatments needed to achieve hair reduction varies. Most patients experience a marked reduction in hair growth in around six treatments. Additionally, other factors such as hair density, age, and hormones can affect the results of your treatments.

What Can I Expect Following Each Treatment?
|
Once your treatment session is complete, you are free to resume your normal routine. Some patients might experience a slight redness in the treated area. This should resolve in a day or two. Avoid sun exposure and use sunscreen following any laser treatment. Immediately after treatment, hair follicles might seem to grow for one to two weeks. Typically these are lifeless hairs and they will fall out quite easily.

Liposuction with Body Jet
