Dr. Bradley Phipps, a Board-certified Family Practitioner, graduated from the University of Kansas Medical School and completed his residency at University of Kansas Family Practice Residency. He provides comprehensive primary medical care to the community.
Dr. Phipps chose family practice because he enjoys taking care of all ages, giving a variety of medical problems and concerns. He likes knowing the whole family.
An enthusiastic outdoorsman, Dr. Phipps enjoys fishing, hunting, golf, biking, boating, and spending time with his family.
Dr. Carla Phipps is a Board-certified Family Practitioner. She graduated from the University of Kansas Medical School and completed her residency at University of Kansas Family Practice Residency. She completed an additional Obstetrical Fellowship at Truman Medical Center, enabling her to provide c-section delivery. She provides comprehensive primary care to the community including obstetrical, pediatric, and cosmetic laser services.
Dr. Phipps also has a mission clinic in Jamaica, where she provides medicines and care each year. A devoted runner, Dr. Phipps has participated in several marathons. She is married to Dr. Brad Phipps and they have three children.
Dr. Steven Thomsen is a Board-certified Family Practitioner. He graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical School and completed his Family Practice Residency at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Wichita. He was in private practice in Montana before joining Lawrence Family Practice Center as a charter member in 1977. He provides comprehensive primary care to the community.
Dr. Thomsen chose family practice because he enjoys knowing and treating the entire family.
In his free time, Dr. Thomsen enjoys spending time with his own family. He also enjoys golf, tennis, fishing, and gardening. Each year Dr. Thomsen takes his two youngest children on a roller coaster trip across the county. All three are known as “coaster freaks”.
Dr. Joy Murphy, a native of Ottawa, KS, graduated from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed her residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center in New York. She completed a one year academic fellowship in New York prior to relocating to Kansas.
She is Board Certified in Family Medicine and provides comprehensive primary care to the community including obstetrical care, pediatric services, and cosmetic laser services.
Dr. Murphy chose family practice in order to treat patients with a wide range of illnesses and issues in a family-centered approach. She has special interests in providing prenatal care, delivering babies, and she enjoys sports medicine.
Her free time is often devoted to her husband and young son. She enjoys organic gardening, cooking, hiking, and almost every kind of sport.
Dr. Kimberley McKeon graduated from Eastern Virginia Medical School in 1998. Dr. McKeon chose to complete her residency at the University of Missouri - Kansas City in order to receive well-rounded training in Family Medicine. She recently relocated from Warrensburg, Missouri, where she had been in practice for three years before to moving to Lawrence. She is board certified in Family Medicine and provides comprehensive primary care to the community including obstetrical, pediatric, and cosmetic laser services.
Dr. McKeon chose family practice because she enjoys treating patients of all ages and especially enjoys being able to providing obstetrical services to her patients and care for their newborns as well. She also has special interests in preventative medicine and patient education.
In her free time, Dr. McKeon enjoys relaxing with her husband and son, cooking, reading, and gardening.
